'Empire's Children' tells the story of Empire, and follows the personal journeys of six British celebrities as they retrace their steps through their multicultural past.Subject: The history behind the development of the British Empire at the end of the sixteenth century and gradual decline following the First World War, with particular emphasis on the post Second World War period, and the impact of emigration to Britain from former colonies, and the effect of Britain on those immigrants. It includes interviews with six well known people and their personal experiences; Chris Bisson, actor, born in Manchester but whose paternal family's roots are Indian and Trinidadian; Diana Rigg, actor, born in India of British parents from Doncaster, lived in India until the age of 7; David Steel, politician, was born in Scotland and moved with his family to Kenya at the age of 11 until he returned to Scotland four years later to continue his education; Jenny ?clair, comic, was born in Malaysia and lived there until her family moved to Berlin when she was two.
