Summary

When Meg Warren loses her teaching job in London, she returns to Pendarren, the small Devonshire village where she grew up. The place still holds many memories for her. Some, like her childhood sweetheart, Adam Eden, are good. But others, such as her father's mysterious suicide, and Stormview, the sinister house just outside the village that is almost permanently shrouded in mist, have haunted her for years.
